Kim Kardashian tends to be ahead of the trends, if she isn't setting them herself, and her curved sofa is no different.

We spotted the socialite's living room sofa in an Easter Instagram post, featuring her entire family cuddled up on the furnishing. The curved back creates separate zones in the large open concept room, differentiating the living room from the kitchen and dining room.

According to experts, the curved shape of Kim's couch is a huge interior design trend for 2025. 'Sofas with statement sculptural silhouettes will be a big trend for 2025 - Curved sofas, fluted sofas and ‘croissant sofas’ will all prove popular due to their ability to add instant interest and character to a living room,' explains design expert Shelley Cochrane.

What makes Kim's look a prime option to be a sofa trend for 2025 is how versatile it is. Shelley states: 'Similarly, sculptural sofas also suit most living rooms, whether contemporary or traditional. I would suggest styling alongside brass finishes, fluted cabinetry, and textural finishes to lean into the member’s club aesthetic.'

Whether you like or don't like the look, the important thing is that choosing a sofa is not a one-size fits all approach. Experts recommend choosing a curved couch that fits into your own personal design style.

Lena Gierasinska, design expert at Barker and Stonehouse recommends: 'Choosing a sofa takes a lot of time and consideration. You need to choose a size, style and fabric that you love, and you also need to make sure it works within your existing interior design scheme.'

'My top tip is to choose a sofa that you really love. Whilst that may sound obvious, many people choose a grey or neutral sofa because they think it’s a safe option, but they later regret that they didn’t go for something a bit bolder,' she continues.

'So, if you really love neutrals, then a grey sofa is a great choice, but if you’re more of a magpie and love pattern, then choose a striped or checked sofa and make it the focal point of the room'

Curved furnishings are one of the easiest ways to add visual interest and style to any room. Whether you are using one to break up an open concept space or to define a cozy corner, they make a great choice.
